| For all the horrific Internet stories, especially of late about a 14 year old who met a Mr. Watkins on myspace.com and was forced into prostitution, at least this girl was careful with her venture:

There probably are people in the States who render their services for a small fee but it's too bad days of "knight-errants" no longer exist. I guess in contemporary times this may be considered a "positive" version of a vigilante. Speaking of vigilante, I can't wait for a chance to watch and read the Watchmen.

| Back from Summer Conference at Bryn Mawr and I'm still sore from football. I'm so out of shape and I can't remember the last time I played football, and the only time I play sports is at Conference anyhow. So speaking of conference, fasting was a topic brought up by speaker Rev. Grace May even before conference began. But how many people noticed that Ramadan is also upon us? You may even have Muslim coworkers that look like they're skipping lunch because they won't be eating until sunset. There are Muslims fasting during thier 9th month in remembrance of how the angel Gabriel passed the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad. I know we normally don't pay any heed to it as believers, and the picture above from Reuters.com looks a bit creepy but I think it'd be quite an interesting display of our relationship with God if we'd put more consideration in this spiritual discipline. Of course, I'm the first hypocrite to speak because I complain all the time when I'm hungry. | | |
